Geographical location

Geographically the district of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Bonn/Rhine-Sieg covers the UN- and Beethoven city Bonn, as well as 19 other cities and communities of the surrounding Rhine-Sieg district. Over 900.000 people live within a surface area of 1294,6 square kilometers in the economic region of Bonn/Rhine-Sieg.

Since the relocation of the federal government from Bonn to Berlin in 1999 the region completely realigned. It developed from the former seat of government to a prosperous modern region, focusing on services in the tertiary sector. Not only due to an excellent infrastructure, the region today is one of the most attractive growth regions in Germany for economics, sciences, culture and with a focus on international congress.

The CCI membership numbers since then have increased by nearly 50%.
